Frequently asked questions about the Red Hat Linux Administrator path

Who is this path for?

This path is intended for Linux systems administrators, systems technicians, infrastructure engineers, DevOps engineers and SREs who want to master Red Hat Enterprise Linux at a certified professional level. It is also suitable for profiles retraining toward Linux administration who want to earn the RHCSA certification, recognized worldwide as the benchmark for Red Hat administrators.

What Red Hat skills and certification does the path cover?

The path covers RHEL administration and prepares for the RHCSA: RHEL fundamentals (command line, files, users), RH-134 (storage/LVM, systemd, SELinux, networking, containers), administration & deployment, and preparation for the RHCSA EX200 exam (included, 100% hands-on).

Is the RHCSA exam hands-on and included?

Yes. The RHCSA (EX200) is a 100% hands-on exam based on real RHEL administration tasks; its preparation and the exam voucher are included in the path.

How long does the path last and how is it spread out?

The path lasts 20 days (140 hours, based on 7h/day), spread over 16 to 24 weeks depending on your schedule. Spreading it out lets you consolidate each module and calmly prepare for the RHCSA EX200 exam during the final module. It is our densest Linux path in terms of hands-on system administration.

How is the 12,990 € excl. VAT price broken down?

The price covers the four training courses (RHEL Fundamentals, RH-134, RHEL Administration and Deployment and RHCSA Preparation), the official Red Hat RHCSA EX200 exam voucher (included in the RHCSA module), several MFE-IT mock exams built into the path, the complete teaching materials, access to the Red Hat labs and a global MFE-IT skills validation certificate issued at the end of the path.

The RHCSA module is certified by an official Red Hat exam (voucher included). The other three modules do not have a Red Hat exam: MFE-IT then issues a skills validation certificate.

What are the prerequisites to follow this path?

The recommended prerequisites are general knowledge of an operating system (Windows or Linux at user level), basic computing and networking skills, and technical English reading skills (useful for Red Hat documentation and the RHCSA exam). No specific Linux prerequisite is required: the path starts with the RHEL Fundamentals module. The path is particularly suited to profiles retraining toward Linux administration.

What session format is offered?

Sessions take place in groups of 1 to 3 participants to guarantee individual attention and a pace suited to your profile. On-site training can take place directly at your premises, and remote training can be recorded on request so you can review key passages. Each day alternates theory, demonstrations and guided practice on an MFE-IT Red Hat lab (RHEL virtual machines).

What career does this path prepare for?

The path prepares you for the role of experienced Red Hat Linux systems administrator. At the end, you know how to administer a RHEL fleet in a professional environment, deploy services, manage basic system security and sit the RHCSA EX200 certification. It is a highly sought-after profile in IT service companies, hosting providers, banks, industry and every IT department that runs Red Hat in production.

What is the value of the RHCSA EX200 certification?

The RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) certification is the benchmark certification for Red Hat administrators. It validates your ability to administer RHEL in a production environment. A key feature: the EX200 exam is a hands-on exam on a real machine (not a multiple-choice test) — it is one of the most credible certifications on the market because it proves operational know-how. At the end of the path, you earn this certification along with several MFE-IT certificates.

What is the difference with the LPI Linux Administrator path?

This path focuses on Red Hat Enterprise Linux with the RHCSA EX200 certification. The LPI Linux Administrator path focuses on the LPIC-1 and LPIC-2 certifications (Linux Professional Institute), which are distribution-independent (multi-distribution: Debian, Ubuntu, RHEL, SUSE, etc.). Choose Red Hat if your target is a company using RHEL in production. Choose LPI if you want a distro-agnostic certification or if your target environment is not Red Hat.
