This training includes plenty of hands-on exercises (around 60% practice) for better learning. Sessions are guaranteed from a single registrant (except in cases of force majeure). A preliminary discussion takes place between the participant and/or a company representative to fully take into account the participant’s profile (level, needs, professional context, challenges, etc.). Assessment: during the training, the trainer assesses participants’ progress through quizzes, role-play and practical exercises. Participants receive a certificate of completion at the end of the training. This training is part of our IT Infrastructure Training Courses catalogue. FAQ
What is Red Hat Enterprise Linux?

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) is the reference enterprise Linux distribution, with commercial support, long-term security updates and a mature ecosystem. At MFE-IT it is delivered in a small group and tailored to your context.

What is the difference between RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux and AlmaLinux?

RHEL is the official paid distribution with Red Hat support. CentOS Stream is the upstream rolling pre-release of RHEL. Rocky Linux and AlmaLinux are free, RHEL-compatible community rebuilds.

What are the prerequisites for RH124?

No formal Linux prerequisites. Basic IT awareness (notions of files, processes, TCP/IP networking) is enough. This training is aimed at administrators starting out with Linux.

Does the course cover the command line, file, user and permission management under RHEL?

Yes. The programme covers Red Hat Enterprise Linux fundamentals: navigation and the command line (bash), file and directory management, users, groups and permissions, processes, text editing and first notions of networking and security.

Do I need prior Linux knowledge for this course?

No. This is an introductory RHEL course, accessible with no prior Linux knowledge; it is an ideal foundation before administration (RH124/RH134) or the RHCSA certification.

How long is the RHEL Fundamentals (RH124) training at MFE-IT?

The training lasts 5 days (35 hours), fully tailored, with a maximum of 3 participants per session. It covers the Bash command line, the file system, users, permissions, services, networking and more.
