Frequently asked questions about the Copilot for IT Departments path

Who is this path for?

This path is intended for Microsoft 365 administrators, CISOs, CIOs, security architects and identity consultants in charge of the deployment, securing and governance of Microsoft Copilot in the enterprise. It is ideal for teams that must industrialize Copilot while managing the risks of data leakage and ungoverned agent sprawl.

What Copilot administration and governance skills does the path cover?

The path covers enterprise Copilot deployment and governance: Microsoft Copilot administration (MS-4017), security and governance, Microsoft Copilot for Security (Defender/Purview/Entra integration) and business-agent governance (MS-4019).

Are security and governance (DLP, roles) covered?

Yes. The path covers securing and governing Copilot: roles and permissions, DLP and Entra ID policies, monitoring, as well as Copilot for Security for SOC use cases.

How long does the path last and how is it spread out?

The path lasts 4 days (24 hours, based on 6h/day), spread over 3 to 5 weeks depending on your schedule. Spreading it out lets you put each module into practice on your tenant between sessions and test configurations before moving on to the next.

How is the 2,290 € excl. VAT price broken down?

The price covers the four training courses (MS-4017, Copilot Security and Governance, Copilot for Security and MS-4019), two MFE-IT mock exams built in (midway and at the end), the complete teaching materials, access to the Microsoft Learn guided labs and an MFE-IT skills validation certificate issued at the end of the path.

MS-4017 and MS-4019 are validated by free Microsoft Learn Applied Skills, with no voucher to purchase. The other two modules (Copilot Security and Governance, and Copilot for Security) do not have a Microsoft exam: MFE-IT then issues a skills validation certificate.

What are the prerequisites to follow this path?

This path is intended for experienced IT professionals. The recommended prerequisites are knowledge of Microsoft 365 fundamentals (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID), notions of tenant administration and Microsoft security basics (Purview, Defender, DLP). A Microsoft 365 administration account with appropriate roles is recommended for the hands-on exercises; otherwise, an MFE-IT lab environment is provided for the duration of the path.

What session format is offered?

Sessions take place in groups of 1 to 3 participants to guarantee individual attention and a pace suited to your IT team’s profile. On-site training can take place directly at your premises, and remote training can be recorded on request so you can review key passages. Each day alternates theory, demonstrations and configurations on a real tenant.

What career does this path prepare for?

The path prepares you for the role of IT lead for Copilot deployment in the enterprise. At the end, you know how to administer, secure and govern Copilot in Microsoft 365, integrate Copilot for Security into the SOC and manage the lifecycle of business agents. It is a key profile for any IT department committed to industrializing generative AI.

What is the value of the Microsoft Learn Applied Skills?

Applied Skills are official Microsoft micro-certifications issued via Microsoft Learn. They validate a specific practical skill through a concrete challenge completed in a real environment. At the end of the path, you earn two official Microsoft Applied Skills (MS-4017 and MS-4019), two MFE-IT certificates for the modules without a Microsoft exam, and a global MFE-IT skills validation certificate for the complete path.

What is the difference with the Copilot for Business Users path?

This path focuses on the administration and governance of Copilot for IT and security teams (CISOs, CIOs, Microsoft 365 admins). The Copilot for Business Users path targets a different audience (sales, marketing, HR, finance) and covers daily business use (Word, Excel, PowerPoint with Copilot, enterprise use cases) without addressing the technical topics of tenant administration and security.
