This intensive training actively prepares you to sit the LPI 101 and LPI 102 exams required to obtain the LPIC-1 “Junior Level Linux Professional” certification. Internationally recognised, this certification attests to your mastery of the fundamentals of Linux system administration, independently of the distribution used. The programme covers all the assessed domains: device management, system boot, package management, file systems, shell scripting, network configuration, security and essential services. Mock exams complete the preparation. You may also be interested in our Getting Started with Linux/Unix Training Course, our Linux Administration Training Course, our Advanced Linux Administration Training Course, our Expert-Level Linux Training Course, our Linux Security Training Course, our Linux Shell Scripting Automation Training Course and our Linux LPIC-2 Certification Training Course.
The voucher for sitting the LPI 101 and LPI 102 exams is included in the training price. Prior hands-on Linux administration experience before this certification preparation is strongly recommended. This training includes plenty of hands-on exercises (around 60% practice) for better learning. Sessions are guaranteed from a single registrant (except in cases of force majeure). A preliminary discussion takes place between the participant and/or a company representative to fully take into account the participant’s profile (level, needs, professional context, challenges, etc.). Assessment: during the training, the trainer assesses participants’ progress through quizzes, role-play and practical exercises. Participants receive a certificate of completion at the end of the training. This training is part of our IT Infrastructure Training Courses catalogue.
By the end of this training, the participant will be able to:
Significant experience in Linux systems administration. The following training courses or equivalents are recommended beforehand: basic Linux commands, shell scripting and level-1 Linux administration.
Systems and network administrators wanting to validate their Linux skills with a recognised certification, and IT professionals preparing for the LPIC-1 certification.
LPIC-1 (Linux Professional Institute Certification level 1) is the internationally recognised entry-level certification that validates Linux administration skills. At MFE-IT it is delivered in a small group and tailored to your context.
LPIC-1 is distribution-neutral (unlike Red Hat or SUSE certifications) and recognised by IT services companies, hosting providers and software vendors alike.
No formal prerequisites, but familiarity with the IT environment and initial exposure to a Unix/Linux system are a plus.
Yes. The programme covers shell scripting (variables, control structures, shebang), Debian (dpkg/apt) and Red Hat (rpm/yum) package management, file systems (ext2/3/4), boot (GRUB 2, systemd), TCP/IP network configuration and basic security (sudo, SSH, GPG) — all the domains of the LPI 101 and 102 exams.
LPIC-1 (LPI) is distribution-neutral: it validates Linux administration fundamentals on Debian/Ubuntu as well as Red Hat/CentOS. RHCSA is specific to Red Hat Enterprise Linux and more hands-on within that ecosystem. LPIC-1 is therefore ideal for cross-distribution Linux skills.
The MFE-IT training lasts 5 days (35 hours), fully tailored, with the 101 and 102 exams included. This intensive format covers all the objectives.
