Description of the training: TCP/IP Network Security Training Course: protect, harden and monitor your infrastructure
About the TCP/IP Network Security Training Course

This TCP/IP Network Security training gives you the keys to secure a modern network infrastructure by identifying the risks associated with TCP/IP protocols and LAN/WAN architectures. You will learn to configure effective protections (firewalls, VPN, filtering, PKI) and reduce attack surfaces. Hands-on labs will let you harden network environments and implement secure remote access for mobile users. By the end, you will be able to design, protect and monitor IP networks with security mechanisms suited to the enterprise. You may also be interested in our Wi-Fi Technologies and Mobility Training Course, our Azure Secure Networks Training Course, our TCP/IP Network Theory Training Course, our Fortinet NSE4 Training Course and our Routing and Firewalling Training Course.

Good to know
Good to know before you enrol

This training includes plenty of hands-on exercises (around 60% practice) for better learning. Sessions are guaranteed from a single registrant (except in cases of force majeure). A preliminary discussion takes place between the participant and/or a company representative to fully take into account the participant’s profile (level, needs, professional context, challenges, etc.). Assessment: during the training, the trainer assesses participants’ progress through quizzes, role-play and practical exercises. Participants receive a certificate of completion at the end of the training. This training is part of our Cybersecurity Training Courses catalogue. Learning objectives of the TCP/IP Network Security Training Course

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the internal and external risks linked to operating TCP/IP-based networks and their security impact
  • Analyse network architecture and vulnerable entry points in the enterprise
  • Implement suitable defence mechanisms (firewalls, VPN, filtering, etc.) to protect the local and wide area network
  • Secure communications, encrypt data and implement secure remote access for mobile users
  • Design a secure intranet and reduce attack surfaces on TCP/IP protocols

FAQ
What is TCP/IP network security?

TCP/IP network security covers the technical and organisational measures that protect network exchanges: filtering (ACLs, firewalls), encryption (IPsec, TLS), authentication (802.1X, RADIUS), detection and monitoring. At MFE-IT it is delivered in a small group and tailored to your context.

What are the most common attacks on TCP/IP?

Classic attacks include IP/ARP spoofing, MITM, DNS poisoning, SYN flood, DoS/DDoS, port scanning, sniffing, session hijacking and DNS exfiltration. Our MFE-IT training analyses these attacks and then implements appropriate countermeasures.

How do you harden an existing TCP/IP infrastructure?

Through segmentation (VLANs, security zones), hardening of devices (accounts, SNMP, SSH only), ACLs and stateful firewalls, 802.1X on access, systematic encryption (IPsec, TLS) and key rotation.

How long does it take to master TCP/IP security?

Our TCP/IP Network Security training runs over 3 days (21 hours) in a fully tailored format. This duration covers theory, attacks and countermeasures with hands-on labs.
