This Routing and Firewalling training course prepares IT professionals to design, configure and secure network routing and firewall architectures. You will learn to implement static and dynamic routing protocols, configure multi-zone firewall policies, manage network address translation and build secure network segmentation. The programme covers routing fundamentals, OSPF, BGP basics, firewall architectures, security policies, VPN and intrusion prevention concepts. By the end, you will be able to design and secure enterprise network infrastructures. Hands-on labs and real-world scenarios are at the core of this training. Also discover our Network Administration (Switching and Routing) Training Course, our CCNA Cisco 200-301 training, our Fortinet NSE4 training and our Local Networks and TCP/IP Fundamentals training.
This course includes numerous exercises (60% hands-on practice) for better learning. Sessions are guaranteed from a single registrant (except in cases of force majeure). A preliminary interview takes place between the participant and/or a company representative in order to fully take into account the participant’s profile (level, needs, professional context, challenges, etc.).
Assessment: during the training, the trainer assesses participants’ learning progress through quizzes, role-play and hands-on exercises. Participants receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course.

By the end of the course, the participant will be able to:
Because every participant is unique, a personalised interview with our expert allows us to design a course perfectly aligned with their objectives, level and professional challenges.
Network administrators, infrastructure engineers and cloud/IT architects responsible for designing and maintaining enterprise networks. Support technicians, security engineers and DevOps wishing to deepen advanced routing and network-security concepts. Anyone involved in operating LAN/WAN networks and securing connected services.
Routing means determining the path of IP packets between networks, using protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, RIP and routing tables. Firewalling means filtering that traffic according to security rules (ACLs, stateful inspection, application policy) to protect resources.
Static routing is configured manually, suited to small architectures or critical links. Dynamic routing (OSPF, BGP) learns paths automatically and adapts to failures. Our MFE-IT course covers both, with trade-offs based on network size and criticality.
A multi-zone firewall architecture separates traffic into zones (LAN, DMZ, WAN, VPN, guests) with specific security policies between zones. It relies on stateful inspection, application inspection, IPS and granular rules. MFE-IT provides reference templates during the labs.
Our Routing and Firewalling course runs over 5 days (35 hours) in a fully tailored format. This volume covers the routing protocols, the design of secure architectures and hands-on labs on realistic equipment.
