FAQ – Windows 11 Troubleshooting Training

Troubleshooting Windows 11 follows a structured methodology: gather symptoms and reproduce, check Event Viewer (System, Application, Security logs), use Reliability Monitor and Performance Monitor, run built-in tools (SFC, DISM, CHKDSK, MSConfig, MDT), boot into Safe Mode for driver isolation, leverage Windows Recovery Environment, and inspect Windows Update history. MFE-IT trains support technicians on this methodology applied to realistic Windows 11 incidents.

Common causes of Windows 11 slowness include insufficient RAM or storage, fragmented HDD (SSD recommended), misbehaving startup applications, malware, outdated drivers, Windows Update in progress, indexing or telemetry overhead, and visual effects on lower-end hardware. Each requires a different diagnostic approach. The MFE-IT Windows 11 Troubleshooting training covers each cause with structured diagnostic playbooks.

Windows 11 offers several reset options under Settings > System > Recovery: ‘Keep my files’ (reinstall Windows preserving documents), ‘Remove everything’ (factory reset), and Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) for unbootable systems. Cloud download is now the preferred path, ensuring a fresh OS image. Through MFE-IT’s hands-on approach, learners walk through each reset scenario during the training.

The Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) — black screen in Windows 11 — appears when the kernel detects a critical error it cannot recover from. The stop code (e.g., DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE) and the responsible module (in the minidump) drive the diagnosis. Common causes: faulty drivers, hardware issues, corrupted system files. Our MFE-IT training course on Windows 11 Troubleshooting covers BSOD analysis with WinDbg and minidump examination.
