The Microsoft Project – Advanced Features training is aimed at project managers and planners who already master the basics of the tool and want to unlock its full potential. Over 2 days, you deepen fine-grained resource and cost management, multi-project steering, customisation of views and reports, as well as progress tracking and variance analysis. The goal: gain efficiency on complex schedules with Microsoft Project 2019 and 2021.

This training includes a large amount of hands-on practice (around 60%) on real planning cases. Sessions are guaranteed from a single registrant (except in cases of force majeure) and run in a small group of 1 to 3 participants.

- Review of key concepts. Advanced setup of the calendar, scheduling options and task types. Manual and automatic modes. Best practices for structuring a schedule.
Advanced resource management and over-allocations
- Fine-grained resource assignment (work, material, cost). Detecting and resolving over-allocations. Resource leveling, workload profiles. Optimising allocation on a project.
Cost management and budget tracking
- Define and track fixed and variable costs. Cost tables. Budget tracking and comparison with the baseline. Earned Value analysis.
Multi-project steering and resource sharing
- Manage a shared resource pool. Consolidate several projects. Cross-project links and multi-project critical path. Steer a project portfolio.
Customisation: views, tables, filters, reports
- Create custom views, tables, filters and groupings. Custom fields and formulas. Design visual reports and dashboards. Export to Excel.
Progress tracking and variance analysis
- Save and use the baseline. Enter progress. Analyse schedule and cost variances. Rebalance a schedule. Communicate on project status.
