Each session will take place even if only one person is registered (except in cases of force majeure).
Description of the Hyper-V Virtualisation Training Course
In a context where performance, flexibility and resource rationalisation are essential, Hyper-V stands out as a robust virtualisation solution integrated into the Windows Server ecosystem.
This Hyper-V training course will enable you to master the fundamentals of virtualisation with Hyper-V, create and manage virtual machines, and configure virtual networks, storage and high availability scenarios.

Format
Remote (recorded sessions).
GOOD TO KNOW
This training course includes numerous exercises (60% practical) to enhance learning. Even if you are the only one registered, the session will still take place (except in cases of force majeure). A preliminary interview is held between the participant and/or a company representative in order to fully assess the participant’s profile (level, needs, professional context, challenges, etc.).
Assessment : during the training course, the trainer assesses the participants’ progress through multiple-choice questions, role-playing exercises and practical work. Participants receive a certificate of completion at the end of the training course.
This training course is part of our Supervision and Virtualisation Training. Discover our other trainings to monitor, virtualise and optimise the performance of your IT environments.
objectives of the Hyper-V Virtualisation Training Course
By the end, each participant will be able to :
- Understand the basic concepts of virtualisation and Hyper-V architecture.
- Install, configure, and administer Hyper-V on Windows Server.
- Create and manage virtual machines and their disks.
- Manage resources, storage, snapshots, and virtual networks.
- Implement high availability strategies with Hyper-V Cluster.
- Monitor and maintain virtualised environments.
Prerequisites
- Basic knowledge of Windows Server administration
- Understanding of network architectures (IP, VLAN, DNS)
- Recommended experience in physical server management
- Because each participant has a unique background and expectations, a preliminary interview with our expert allows us to precisely identify their objectives, level and professional challenges.
This enables us to tailor the training content to ensure relevant and personalised learning.

FAQ – Hyper-V Virtualization Training
What is Hyper-V used for?
Hyper-V is Microsoft’s native hypervisor, included with Windows Server and Windows Pro/Enterprise editions. It is used to consolidate workloads on fewer physical servers, run multiple operating systems on a single host, build dev/test environments, and form the foundation of private clouds with System Center and Azure Stack HCI. MFE-IT trains IT administrators on installing, configuring, and operating Hyper-V in production.
Is Hyper-V better than VMware?
Hyper-V and VMware vSphere are both mature enterprise hypervisors with overlapping feature sets. Hyper-V is included with Windows Server licensing (cost-effective for Microsoft-centric shops), while VMware vSphere has historically led in advanced features (DRS, vMotion variants, NSX). Recent Broadcom licensing changes have driven many organizations to evaluate Hyper-V as an alternative. The MFE-IT Hyper-V Virtualization training compares both platforms objectively.
Is Hyper-V free?
Hyper-V itself is included free with Windows Pro/Enterprise (for development) and with every Windows Server license (for production). The standalone Hyper-V Server (free SKU) was discontinued, but Hyper-V on Windows Server Datacenter remains the standard production deployment. Through MFE-IT’s hands-on approach, learners deploy Hyper-V on Windows Server with proper licensing for their scenario.
How do you create a virtual machine in Hyper-V?
Creating a Hyper-V virtual machine starts in Hyper-V Manager (or PowerShell / Windows Admin Center): choose a name and storage location, allocate memory and virtual processors, attach a virtual switch for network, create a virtual hard disk (VHDX), and mount an OS installation ISO. The VM boots like a physical machine. Our MFE-IT training course on Hyper-V Virtualization walks through every step with production best practices.
