FAQ – VMware Horizon Cloud on Azure Training
Yes — this is exactly what VMware Horizon Cloud on Microsoft Azure (now Omnissa Horizon Cloud) provides: a virtual desktop (VDI) and published application solution hosted on Azure infrastructure. Microsoft also offers Azure VMware Solution (AVS) to run a complete vSphere/NSX/vSAN environment in Azure. The MFE-IT VMware Horizon Cloud on Azure training covers the deployment, configuration, security and day-to-day operation of this hybrid environment.
VMware Horizon Cloud on Microsoft Azure is a cloud platform for managing virtual desktops (VDI) and published applications, built on the power and scalability of Microsoft Azure. It delivers a secure remote work environment to all employees from any device, through a unified administration console. At MFE-IT, the training covers architecture, pods, desktop pools, Active Directory / Entra ID integration and monitoring.
Deployment happens in several steps: preparing the Azure subscription (vNet, subnets, ExpressRoute or VPN), creating the Horizon Cloud tenant, registering the Azure subscription, deploying the pod, configuring Active Directory / Entra ID, then creating virtual machine pools (dedicated or floating) and published applications. The MFE-IT VMware Horizon Cloud on Azure training (€2,960 ex VAT, 4 days) walks you through these steps, with deployment automation and security best practices.
VMware Horizon comes in two complementary flavors: Horizon (on-premises, deployed in your datacenter) and Horizon Cloud on Azure, a SaaS version managed from a cloud console and hosted on Azure. The Cloud on Azure version removes most infrastructure management, uses pay-as-you-go billing and simplifies scalability. This is the variant covered by the MFE-IT VMware Horizon Cloud on Azure training, with a focus on migration from on-premises Horizon to the cloud.
