About the Excel Advanced Skills Training Course

This Microsoft Excel advanced-skills training course is aimed at users who already have the basics of the spreadsheet and want to become fully independent with its advanced features. Over two hands-on days, you will consolidate the building of complex formulas, lookup and conditional functions, then harness the full power of PivotTables to analyse large volumes of data. You will also learn to structure your workbooks cleanly, automate repetitive tasks and make your calculations reliable in order to produce clear, professional dashboards. By the end of the course, Excel becomes a genuine day-to-day analysis and decision-support tool.

Prerequisites of the training: Excel Advanced Skills Training Course
Prerequisites

To follow this course in the best conditions, it is recommended to have completed the Excel Intermediate training course or to have equivalent knowledge: entering and formatting data, basic formulas (SUM, AVERAGE), relative and absolute references, and creating simple charts. Regular use of the spreadsheet will make it easier to assimilate the advanced modules. Because every participant is unique, a personalised interview is held beforehand to adapt the pace and practical cases to your context.

FAQ
What is Excel?

Microsoft Excel is the spreadsheet application in the Office suite: it lets you enter, organise, calculate and analyse data within worksheets. Beyond formulas, Excel offers powerful analysis tools (PivotTables, charts, conditional formatting) and automation. MFE-IT’s Excel advanced-skills course is aimed at already-initiated users who want to make the most of these advanced features.

What is a PivotTable?

A PivotTable is an Excel tool that instantly summarises and analyses large volumes of data without writing a single formula. In a few clicks, you group, filter and calculate totals, averages or percentages across several analysis dimensions. It is one of the cornerstones of the Excel advanced-skills course, along with slicers, the timeline and PivotCharts.

What is the difference between Excel and Power BI?

Excel is a versatile spreadsheet, ideal for entering, calculating and analysing data on an occasional or recurring basis. Power BI is a Business Intelligence tool dedicated to modelling and visualising data from multiple sources, with publishable interactive dashboards. The two are complementary: the skills acquired in Excel (PivotTables, Power Query) then make the move to Power BI easier.

How long is the Excel Advanced Skills training course?

The Excel advanced-skills course lasts 2 days, i.e. 14 hours. Sessions are guaranteed from the first registration and run in a small group of 1 to 3 participants. The programme can be personalised and delivered at your premises.

Is the Excel Advanced Skills training course eligible for CPF or OPCO funding?
