Frequently asked questions about the Data Azure path
WHO IS THE DATA AZURE PATH — DATA ENGINEER & ANALYST FOR?
This path is aimed at data engineers, data analysts, BI developers and data project managers who want to master the Microsoft Fabric and Power BI stack on Azure. Target profiles: data analysts moving into data engineering, developers looking to specialise in data, BI consultants extending their stack towards Microsoft Fabric. Familiarity with SQL and some Power BI basics are useful to get the most out of the advanced modules, but the path starts with the fundamentals (DP-900) and therefore remains accessible without strong prerequisites.
What Azure data skills and certifications does the path cover?
The path covers data engineering and analysis on Azure: data fundamentals (DP-900) and engineering/analysis modules (DP-3028, DP-3029), covering storage, processing, data warehousing and analytics (Azure Synapse/Fabric, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB).
Does the path address data warehousing and analytics?
Yes. The path covers analytical workloads, data warehousing and data pipelines on Azure (Synapse/Fabric), relational (Azure SQL) and non-relational (Cosmos DB) data.
HOW LONG DOES THE PATH LAST AND CAN IT BE SPREAD OUT?
The path represents 10 days of training, i.e. 65 hours (the total duration depends on the modules chosen, some being denser Applied Skills). You can take it continuously over three weeks or spread it over several months depending on your constraints. At MFE-IT, sessions are guaranteed from a single enrolled participant (except in cases of force majeure), which allows you to schedule each module at your own pace without depending on a group’s calendar.
WHAT EXACTLY DOES THE PRICE INCLUDE?
The price covers the four official trainings (DP-900, DP-800, DP-3028 and DP-3029), the two Microsoft exam vouchers for the paid certifications (DP-900 and DP-800), and several MFE-IT mock exams to practise in real conditions. The Applied Skills DP-3028 and DP-3029 are free on the Microsoft side and therefore at no extra cost. Everything is delivered on-site or remotely depending on your choice, with 30 days of post-training follow-up by email.
WHAT ARE THE PREREQUISITES TO START THE PATH?
The path starts with the fundamentals (DP-900) and therefore does not require any prior data knowledge. However, SQL basics and familiarity with Power BI are useful for the more technical modules DP-800, DP-3028 and DP-3029. If you lack these prerequisites, we can add a preliminary SQL and Power BI introduction beforehand — feel free to contact us to discuss it.
REMOTE OR ON-SITE? HOW DO THE SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?
Both formats are possible, including a hybrid mix from one module to another. On-site training can take place directly at your premises, and remote sessions can be recorded on request so that you can review key passages. Each session has between 1 and 3 participants maximum, with around 60% of the time devoted to hands-on practice in real Microsoft Fabric and Power BI environments. You leave each module with concrete deliverables (datasets, semantic models, Fabric pipelines, Power BI reports) directly reusable in your professional context.
WHICH JOB DOES THIS PATH LEAD TO?
This path prepares you for the roles of Azure data engineer, Microsoft Fabric data analyst, BI developer, lead data engineer and Power Platform consultant specialised in data. The opportunities span data-focused IT services companies, the data departments of large enterprises and scale-ups that are industrialising their data pipeline on Microsoft Fabric, Synapse and Power BI.
WHAT IS THE MARKET VALUE OF THE CERTIFICATIONS OBTAINED?
At the end of the path, you obtain two globally recognised Microsoft certifications (DP-900 Azure Data Fundamentals and DP-800 Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst), plus the Applied Skills DP-3028 and DP-3029 on Microsoft Fabric, which appear directly on your Microsoft Learn and LinkedIn profile. It is currently the most sought-after combination for data roles in the Microsoft ecosystem, and it clearly sets you apart from profiles that only hold a general certification such as DP-900 alone.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE WITH THE AI AZURE PATH — AI ENGINEER?
The Data Azure path trains you in collecting, transforming, storing and delivering data on Azure (data engineering, BI, Fabric). The AI Azure path, on the other hand, trains you to design AI solutions on that data (models, Azure cognitive services, generative AI, vision). The two are complementary: Data builds the pipeline and the reports, AI adds intelligence on top of the data. Depending on your target role (data production vs AI value creation), one will be more relevant than the other — we help you choose during the preliminary interview.
