This 5-day course teaches you to automate and operate a VMware Cloud Foundation 9 (VCF) private cloud. You will set up infrastructure automation, manage multi-tenant environments, configure advanced networking (Provider and VPC) and monitor everything with VCF Operations. The goal: accelerate the deployment of modern applications while improving the resilience and performance of the private cloud.
The course combines demonstrations with hands-on work (quizzes, scenarios and labs) to master the Provider and Consumption portals, Infrastructure as Code and platform observability. It naturally extends the VMware Cloud Foundation 9 – Build, Manage and Secure course, which lays the deployment and administration foundations. Also discover the VMware vSphere & vSAN course and all our VMware training courses.
The course assumes prior hands-on experience of vSphere and NSX. A positioning questionnaire is offered beforehand to check your foundational knowledge and adapt the pace.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
To follow this course, you should have completed the VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage and VMware NSX: Install, Configure, Manage courses, or have equivalent knowledge. A prerequisite questionnaire is available to validate foundational skills.
Because every participant is unique, a personalised interview with our expert lets us design a course perfectly aligned with their objectives, level and professional challenges.
This course is intended for:
VCF Automation is the automation layer of VMware Cloud Foundation. It lets you provision and administer private-cloud resources in self-service, through Provider and Consumption portals, with management of organizations, networking and Infrastructure as Code. It speeds up the delivery of environments and applications.
Multitenancy means hosting several isolated logical entities — the organizations — on the same VCF infrastructure. Each organization has its own resources, identities and policies, allowing a service provider or an IT department to serve several teams or clients while sharing the platform.
VCF Operations is the platform’s observability tool: metrics, views, reports, dashboards, alerts and diagnostics. It provides centralised monitoring of infrastructure and applications to anticipate incidents, optimise performance and maintain the health of the private cloud.
The Build, Manage and Secure course covers deploying, administering and securing VCF. This Automate and Operate course focuses on automation, multitenancy and monitored operations. The two complement each other for a complete VCF 9 path.
Yes, hands-on experience of vSphere and NSX (Install, Configure, Manage level) is recommended. A positioning questionnaire checks these prerequisites before the course starts.
