This 5-day course makes you fully autonomous in deploying, administering and securing a VMware Cloud Foundation 9 (VCF) infrastructure — the private cloud platform that unifies compute, storage, networking and monitoring within a Software-Defined Data Center. You will learn to build the VCF architecture, bring workload domains into service, integrate NSX networking and vSAN storage, and administer identities, certificates and the platform lifecycle.
The course blends theory with guided hands-on labs to embed the day-to-day tasks of a private-cloud administrator. To go further into operations and automation, it pairs with the VMware Cloud Foundation 9 – Automate and Operate course. You can also strengthen your foundations with the VMware vSphere & vSAN course and browse our full VMware training courses.
As the course is demanding, a self-assessment questionnaire is offered beforehand to check your knowledge of vSphere, NSX and vSAN. It helps fine-tune the pace and secure your progress across the five days.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
To follow this course under the best conditions, you should have hands-on experience of VMware vSphere environments, knowledge of VMware NSX and vSAN, and an understanding of Software-Defined Data Center architectures.
Because every participant is unique, a personalised interview with our expert lets us design a course perfectly aligned with their objectives, level and professional challenges.

VMware Cloud Foundation 9 (VCF) is a private-cloud platform that brings together, on a single software base, server virtualization (vSphere), software-defined networking (NSX), hyperconverged storage (vSAN) and monitoring tools. It lets you deploy and administer a Software-Defined Data Center consistently and in an automated way.
vSphere is the virtualization layer (ESXi hypervisor + vCenter management), whereas VMware Cloud Foundation orchestrates an entire private cloud by integrating vSphere, NSX and vSAN under unified administration with lifecycle management. VCF relies on vSphere but goes well beyond server virtualization alone.
A workload domain is a coherent set of compute, storage and network resources, with its own vCenter, dedicated to a given purpose (production, test, a specific application). It isolates and sizes environments while keeping centralised administration from VCF.
The course covers VMware Cloud Foundation 9 (VCF 9), the latest generation of VMware’s private-cloud platform. It addresses the architecture changes, NSX networking, vSAN storage and the administration, security and lifecycle-management tools of this version.
Prior knowledge of NSX and vSAN, along with hands-on vSphere experience, is recommended to get the most out of the course. A self-assessment questionnaire validates these prerequisites beforehand and, if needed, you can strengthen your foundations with the vSphere & vSAN course.
