Description of the training: SharePoint External Collaboration Training – Migrating to Entra ID B2B
Description of the SharePoint External Collaboration Training – Entra ID B2B

This training course prepares you to anticipate the removal of one-time passcodes (OTP) planned by Microsoft in July 2026 and to secure your external collaborators’ access to SharePoint for the long term. You will discover how to audit all your current guest accounts, identify sensitive sharing flows and implement a controlled transition to Entra ID B2B. The programme combines theoretical input with concrete scenarios: auditing existing access, configuring security policies, deploying multi-factor authentication for guests and managing the lifecycle of external accounts. By the end of this day, you will have an operational roadmap to migrate your external access and strengthen the protection of your Microsoft 365 collaborative environment.

FAQ
What is Entra ID B2B for SharePoint?

Entra ID B2B (formerly Azure AD B2B) is Microsoft’s official mechanism for inviting external users (partners, clients, providers) to collaborate on SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Teams. It replaces the old anonymous links and one-time passcodes (OTP) with a real, secure and governed federated identity. MFE-IT trains you to migrate to this model before OTP ends in 2026.

Why is Microsoft removing OTP codes for external sharing?

Microsoft has announced the gradual end of one-time passcodes (OTP) for external SharePoint/OneDrive sharing by 2026. This decision aims to strengthen security (genuine traceability of guest accounts, MFA, conditional access, centralised revocation) and to align all organisations on Entra ID B2B. Without migration, external users will lose access to your shared documents.

How do you prepare for migration to Entra ID B2B?

Migration is prepared in 4 steps: auditing existing external shares (OTP inventory), configuring Entra ID B2B (collaboration settings, allowed domains, conditional access), converting OTP links into B2B invitations, then communicating with external partners. MFE-IT guides you step by step with PowerShell scripts and governance best practices.

How long does this training take?

The MFE-IT training lasts 1 day, in a fully bespoke format with a maximum of 3 participants per session. In one intensive day it covers: understanding the 2026 OTP deadline, configuring Entra ID B2B, migrating your existing shares and putting governance in place. 30 days of post-training support to support your migration into production.

Is this SharePoint External Collaboration training eligible for CPF or OPCO funding?

No. MFE-IT does not directly handle CPF or OPCO applications and our organisation is not Qualiopi-certified. This training course is therefore aimed solely at companies that fund it directly.

This is a deliberate choice: we have prioritised teaching agility and investment in genuine quality over administrative compliance.

In return, you benefit from a fully bespoke format: preliminary interview, content tailored to your business context, sessions guaranteed from a single registration (except in cases of force majeure), a maximum of 3 participants per session and 30 days of post-training support by email.
