About the PSPO I Training Course

The certifying PSPO I – Professional Scrum Product Owner training prepares you to take on the Product Owner role within a Scrum team and to pass the official Scrum.org PSPO I certification (exam included). Over 3 days, you learn to maximise a product’s value: build and carry a product vision, manage and order the backlog, collaborate with stakeholders and the development team, and measure delivered value. This highly practical course builds on workshops and role-play.

  • Recap of the Scrum framework (roles, artefacts, events). Positioning the Product Owner among the Scrum team’s responsibilities. Understanding the purpose of the role and its importance for product success.
Product vision and value creation
  • Build and carry a product vision. Align the vision with the organisation’s strategy. The notion of value and the Definition of Done. Laying the foundations of value-driven product management.
Managing the product backlog
  • Create and structure the product backlog. Write and refine backlog items. Slicing and refinement techniques. Keep a transparent, actionable backlog.
Ordering and prioritising value
  • Order the backlog by value, risk and dependencies. Prioritisation techniques (value/effort, etc.). Manage trade-offs and decisions with stakeholders.
Collaboration with stakeholders and the team
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and users. Gather and integrate feedback. Work with the development team and the Scrum Master. Communicate on progress and value.
Measuring product value and impact
  • Measure delivered value and product impact (metrics, feedback, outcomes). Steer by value and improve continuously. The product learning loop.
