Description of the training: Cisco SISE Training Course – Implementing and Configuring Cisco Identity Services Engine
About the Cisco ISE (SISE) training

This 5-day course makes you autonomous in deploying and configuring Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cisco’s network access control (NAC) platform. You practise 802.1X authentication, device profiling, guest and BYOD services, posture, TrustSec and integrations.

The course blends theory with guided hands-on labs. It complements the Cisco SCOR course.

Good to know
Good to know before you enrol

The course suits experienced network/security profiles. A preliminary discussion validates your knowledge (networking, 802.1X, security) and adjusts the pace across the five days.

Objectives of the training: Cisco SISE Training Course – Implementing and Configuring Cisco Identity Services Engine
Learning objectives of the Cisco ISE (SISE) course

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Deploy the Cisco ISE architecture and its services
  • Configure 802.1X and MAB access control
  • Implement device profiling
  • Deploy guest and BYOD services
  • Set up endpoint posture assessment
  • Configure TrustSec and ISE integrations
Prerequisites of the training: Cisco SISE Training Course – Implementing and Configuring Cisco Identity Services Engine

FAQ
What is Cisco ISE?

Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine) is Cisco’s network access control (NAC) platform: it authenticates and authorises users and devices, enforces access policies and segments the network by identity and context. The course covers its deployment.

What is NAC?

NAC (Network Access Control) controls who and what can access the network, by authenticating each device and enforcing policies. Cisco ISE is Cisco’s NAC solution. The course makes you autonomous in its implementation.

What is device profiling?

Profiling automatically identifies the type of device connecting (printer, IP phone, PC, etc.) to apply the right access policy, without manual configuration. The course covers its configuration in ISE.

What is BYOD in ISE?

BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) lets employees use their personal devices securely, via ISE-managed onboarding (certificates, policies). The course covers its deployment.

What is posture in ISE?

Posture assessment checks an endpoint’s compliance (antivirus, patches, etc.) before granting network access, and triggers remediation if needed. The course covers its implementation.

What is Cisco TrustSec?

Cisco TrustSec segments the network by security groups (SGTs) based on identity rather than IP addressing, simplifying micro-segmentation. The course covers its configuration in ISE.
