Description of the training: Graphic Design Essentials – 5-Day Training Course

This condensed Graphic Design training gets you to master the essentials of the profession in five days, from visual fundamentals to hands-on use of the three industry-standard programs: Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Highly practice-oriented, it takes you from theory — colour, typography, composition — to production, all the way to a complete visual-identity project. By the end, you are able to independently design your own communication materials: logos, posters, brochures and digital documents.

FAQ
What is the difference between Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign?

Photoshop works with pixel images (retouching, compositing), Illustrator creates infinitely resizable vectors (logos, illustrations) and InDesign assembles text and images into multi-page documents (brochures, flyers). This training teaches you to use all three in a complementary way within a single project.

What is a visual identity and what does it include?

A visual identity is the set of graphic elements that make a brand recognisable: logo, colour palette, typography, image style and variations. The training's running project has you build a complete visual identity, from the logo to its materials.

Do we work in RGB or CMYK?

Both: RGB mode is for on-screen display and CMYK mode for print. Choosing the right mode from the start avoids unpleasant surprises when printing. The training teaches you to manage these modes according to where your visuals will be used.

Who is the Graphic Design Essentials 5-day training for?

It is aimed at entrepreneurs, freelancers, communication and marketing officers, and anyone wishing to create their own visual materials, with no prior experience required.

What are the prerequisites for this training?

No experience in graphic design is needed; you just need to be comfortable with the basic computing environment (PC or Mac). A preliminary discussion allows us to adapt the content to your level.

How long is the training?

The training lasts 5 days, i.e. 35 hours, split between theory and practice (around 60% of the time).

Is the training hands-on?

Yes: around 60% of the time is devoted to guided exercises and a running visual-identity project, so that you are self-sufficient by the end of the training.

Can the training be personalised?

Yes: the programme can be adapted to your needs, sector and projects, thanks to a preliminary discussion with our expert trainer.
