FAQ
Is Affinity Photo paid software?
No: since 2025, the Affinity apps have been brought together into a single "Affinity by Canva" application, now offered free of charge. The training is based on this latest version, making it a professional alternative with no licence cost compared to traditional editing software.
What are the "Personas" in Affinity Photo?
Personas are specialised workspaces within Affinity: Photo Persona for retouching, Develop for RAW processing, Liquify, Tone Mapping, Export… You switch from one to another without changing software. The training teaches you to move between these Personas to cover an image's entire processing chain.
What is the difference between Affinity Photo and Photoshop?
Both are bitmap image editors with very similar features (layers, masks, retouching, RAW). Affinity, now free and subscription-free, appeals with its speed and zero cost, while Photoshop remains the industry standard and includes more AI features. The skills learned on one transfer largely to the other.
