This training course introduces the fundamentals of administering IBM Db2 LUW (Linux, UNIX and Windows) databases in a Linux environment.
Participants learn to install Db2 on a Linux server, create and manage instances and databases, work with objects and storage, use SQL through the db2 CLP, move data and set up backup and restore.

Our sessions are guaranteed from a single registrant, with no risk of postponement (except in cases of force majeure). A preliminary interview takes place between the participant and/or a company contact in order to fully account for the participant’s profile (level, needs, professional context, challenges, etc.).
Assessment: throughout the course, the trainer evaluates participants’ progress through quizzes, role-play scenarios and hands-on labs. Participants receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course.

IBM Db2 LUW (Linux, UNIX and Windows) is IBM’s relational database management system for distributed environments. Deployed on Linux servers, both on-premises and in the cloud, it serves as a transactional and analytical engine for critical applications. MFE-IT trains you in its core administration on Linux over 5 days (35h).
Db2 LUW (Linux, UNIX and Windows) is the distributed version of Db2, installed on Linux, UNIX or Windows servers. Db2 for z/OS is the mainframe version, running on IBM Z with its own tools and structures. Both share a largely common SQL dialect, but installation, administration, tuning and tooling differ significantly. This MFE-IT course focuses on Db2 LUW on Linux.
No. This course runs entirely on Linux: no mainframe knowledge is required. Basic Linux administration skills (command line, users, file systems) and some prior SQL experience are enough. It is aimed at junior administrators, Linux operators or developers who want to administer Db2, its structures, utilities and day-to-day tools.
The MFE-IT course lasts 5 days (35 hours), in a fully tailored format with a maximum of 3 participants per session. It covers: installing Db2 on Linux, instances and configuration, storage structures (tablespaces, indexes, bufferpools), utilities (LOAD, IMPORT/EXPORT, REORG, RUNSTATS), SQL, monitoring and backup/restore. 30 days of post-training support.
