This 2-day course makes you autonomous in deploying Cisco Web Security Appliance (WSA) to secure web access. You practise the proxy, authentication, HTTPS decryption, access and acceptable-use policies, anti-malware protection (AMP) and reporting.
The course blends theory with guided hands-on labs. It complements the Cisco SCOR course.

The course suits network/security profiles. A preliminary discussion validates your knowledge (TCP/IP, web security) and adjusts the pace across the two days.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
A good grasp of TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS and basic network security concepts is recommended.
Because every participant is unique, a personalised interview with our expert lets us design a course perfectly aligned with their objectives, level and professional challenges.

Several schemes may help fund this course (company training plan, sector funding bodies, individual schemes). Our advisors will help you identify the solution best suited to your situation.
Cisco WSA (Web Security Appliance) is a web security gateway (proxy) that filters and secures users’ web traffic: URL control, anti-malware, HTTPS decryption and usage policies. The course covers its deployment.
A web proxy sits between users and the Internet to inspect, filter and log web traffic, enforce policies and block threats. The WSA is Cisco’s security proxy. The course covers its configuration.
As most web traffic is encrypted (HTTPS), decryption allows inspection of content to detect threats and enforce policies, while respecting privacy (exceptions). The course covers its implementation.
AMP (Advanced Malware Protection) analyses files to detect and block malware, including retrospectively. Integrated into the WSA, it strengthens web defence. The course covers its activation.
The SWSA course lasts 2 days, a concentrated and highly hands-on format, ideal to quickly build skills in web security with Cisco WSA.
Yes. The course covers WSA reporting and administration: logging, usage and threat reports, and incident troubleshooting.
