FAQ
What is Cisco WSA?

Cisco WSA (Web Security Appliance) is a web security gateway (proxy) that filters and secures users’ web traffic: URL control, anti-malware, HTTPS decryption and usage policies. The course covers its deployment.

What is a web proxy?

A web proxy sits between users and the Internet to inspect, filter and log web traffic, enforce policies and block threats. The WSA is Cisco’s security proxy. The course covers its configuration.

Why decrypt HTTPS?

As most web traffic is encrypted (HTTPS), decryption allows inspection of content to detect threats and enforce policies, while respecting privacy (exceptions). The course covers its implementation.

What is AMP?

AMP (Advanced Malware Protection) analyses files to detect and block malware, including retrospectively. Integrated into the WSA, it strengthens web defence. The course covers its activation.

How long is the course?

The SWSA course lasts 2 days, a concentrated and highly hands-on format, ideal to quickly build skills in web security with Cisco WSA.

Does the course cover reporting?

Yes. The course covers WSA reporting and administration: logging, usage and threat reports, and incident troubleshooting.
