Docker to Kubernetes Training

Description

Containerising applications has become an essential standard in modern environments. But moving from a Docker image to a controlled deployment on Kubernetes or in the cloud requires a gradual, structured and practical increase in skills.

This training course teaches you how to use key tools (Docker, Compose, Kubernetes) and link them to a real cloud-ready deployment process. From the local environment to the cluster, you will learn how to automate, expose and monitor your containerised applications.

Format

Remote (recorded sessions).

GOOD TO KNOW

This training course includes numerous exercises (60% practical) to enhance learning. Each session will take place even if only one person is registered (except in cases of force majeure). A preliminary interview is held between the participant and/or a company representative in order to fully assess the participant’s profile (level, needs, professional context, challenges, etc.).
Assessment : during the training course, the trainer assesses the participants’ progress through multiple-choice questions, role-playing exercises and practical work. Participants receive a certificate of completion at the end of the training course.

objectives of this Docker to Kubernetes Training Course

By the end, each participant will be able to :

  • Efficiently containerise applications with Docker.
  • Manage multi-container development environments via Docker Compose.
  • Understand the fundamentals of Kubernetes and services deployed in a cluster.
  • Orchestrate deployments in cloud environments (GCP, Azure, AWS, or on-premises).
  • Monitor, secure, and expose your containerised applications.
  • Link containerisation to a DevOps workflow (CI/CD, versioning, rolling updates)

Prerequisites

  • Basic knowledge of Linux command line
  • Basic understaanding of application development (Node, Java, Python, etc.)omfortable with concepts of service, API, web architecture
  • Because each participant has a unique background and expectations, a preliminary interview with our expert allows us to precisely identify their objectives, level and professional challenges.
This enables us to tailor the training content to ensure relevant and personalised learning.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Training Course for developers, system administrators, and DevOps professionals transitioning to a modern, modular, and scalable infrastructure.

FAQ – Docker to Kubernetes Training

It is a learning path to containerize an application with Docker, package it as images, then orchestrate it on a Kubernetes cluster. It covers image building, storage, networking, scalability, observability, and continuous deployment. MFE-IT guides Dev and Ops teams through this skill ramp-up.

Docker Compose orchestrates a few containers on a single machine for development or small stacks, while Kubernetes is designed to orchestrate tens or thousands of containers across a multi-node cluster, with high availability and auto-scaling. The MFE-IT training shows when to migrate from Compose to Kubernetes.

Yes, understanding containerization (images, layers, volumes, Docker networks) is a solid prerequisite for approaching Kubernetes: pods, services, deployments, persistent volumes, ingress. The MFE-IT track is specifically designed to build up skills progressively, from Docker to production-ready Kubernetes orchestration.

The training lasts 7 days totaling 28 hours, either remotely or on-site, with a maximum of 3 participants per session and 30 days of post-training support included.
