Cybersecurity Training Level 1

Description of this Cybersecurity Training Level 1

This immersive cybersecurity training course immerses you in the world of cyber threats and teaches you, through hands-on experience, how to detect, analyse and block the most common attacks.

Cybersecurity is no longer just about policies and tools. It relies on the ability to understand attackers’ techniques in order to better defend against them.

Through real-world scenarios (phishing, ransomware, network scanning, privilege escalation, etc.), you will develop the essential reflexes of a security professional while consolidating your technical foundations. Also discover our Cybersecurity Training Course, our Securing Your Website Training, our Application Security Training Course and our Training Course Microsoft 365 and Azure.

Format

Remote (recorded sessions).

GOOD TO KNOW

This training course includes numerous exercises (60% practical) to enhance learning. Even if you are the only one registered, the session will still take place (except in cases of force majeure). A preliminary interview is held between the participant and/or a company representative in order to fully assess the participant’s profile (level, needs, professional context, challenges, etc.).
Assessment : during the training course, the trainer assesses the participants’ progress through multiple-choice questions, role-playing exercises and practical work. Participants receive a certificate of completion at the end of the training course.

objectives of this Cybersecurity Training Level 1

By the end, each participant will be able to :

  • Understand the lifecycle of a cyberattack (reconnaissance, exploitation, persistence)
  • Identify common threats: phishing, malware, exploits, lateral movement
  • Use analysis and defence tools (Wireshark, fail2ban, AV, EDR, etc.)
  • Respond effectively in the event of compromise or suspicion
  • Apply technical and behavioural best practices
  • Strengthen the security culture within the team or organisation

Prerequisites

  • Proficiency with Windows/Linux workstations
  • Basic knowledge of networks, systems, or IT architecture
  • No cybersecurity prerequisites required (beginner/intermediate level)

Because each participant has a unique background and expectations, a preliminary interview with our expert allows us to precisely identify their objectives, level and professional challenges.
This enables us to tailor the training content to ensure relevant and personalised learning.

target audience

IT technicians, system/network administrators, or anyone wishing to take an active stance against cyber threats.

FAQ – Cybersecurity Level 1 Training

Cybersecurity is the practice of protecting information systems, networks, devices, and data from digital attacks, unauthorized access, and damage. It encompasses technical controls (firewalls, encryption, EDR), organizational policies, user awareness, and incident response. The discipline applies to every modern organization, not just IT departments. MFE-IT trains beginners on the foundational concepts through the Cybersecurity Level 1 curriculum.

Starting with cybersecurity means learning networking fundamentals, operating systems (Windows and Linux), basic scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell), then key concepts: cryptography, authentication, common attacks (phishing, malware, social engineering), and defenses (firewalls, antivirus, MFA, patching). The MFE-IT Cybersecurity Level 1 training packages this foundation into a focused hands-on program.

The most common cyber attacks in 2026 are phishing and business email compromise, ransomware, credential stuffing, supply chain attacks, malware infections, and exploitation of unpatched vulnerabilities. Insider threats and misconfigurations also remain frequent sources of breaches. Through MFE-IT’s hands-on approach, learners explore each attack type with safe demonstrations and learn how to detect and prevent them.

Yes, cybersecurity is one of the strongest IT career fields in 2026, with persistent global skills shortages, attractive salaries, and steady demand across every industry. Career paths range from SOC analyst and pentester to GRC, identity engineer, and CISO. Our MFE-IT Cybersecurity Level 1 training is the entry point for IT professionals looking to pivot into security.
